So Far

We are only 26 days into 2011 and so far we have been very productive.

I graduated. It was boring (like most graduations) but I'm officially done. High five.

Rick and I were able to get our cholesterol down 100 points. Not 100 points total, 100 points EACH. We were so unhealthy. And now our numbers are looking great. I have been doing zumba and Rick has been lifting a lot of weights. Here are some pics of our new bods.

Rick and his muscles.

Me and my zumba bod.

I wish. The only reason we are still alive is because of the medication our doctor put us on. Which I am no longer taking. It's up to me to keep my blood from turning into gravy. Wish me luck.

Meeko had a big day today. We took him to the vet bright and early this morning where he had a tooth pulled, some shots, and his dignity snipped off. We knew we were behind on some shots and we had discussed the pros and cons of getting him neutered. The cons being nothing and the pros being that he will calm-the-hell-down. He's got such a hyper and spunky personality and we wanted to just die down the fire a little bit without killing the flame. Turns out we put out his entire flame with a fire hose and then spit in the ashes. Picking him up from the vet was the saddest thing I've ever seen. The vet said that the anesthesia and medication they gave him hit him extra hard. His eyes were super glazed and he wouldn't look at me he would look past me. He slept all day, but when I would be cleaning he would try to follow me around like he used to. I ended up putting him on our bed (he's been sleeping in our bed for the last little while and has had no problems) so that I could clean the bedroom and he peed on the bed. I don't know if it was out of spite or because of the medication. If I was him I probably would have peed on our bed too just to show everyone who's still the boss.

Here he after his procedure doing something he's never done before - sitting down and being quiet.

The cone was so huge that he slid out of it in 2 seconds. We had to do some changes and zip tie it closed. He's only had it on for about 30 minutes and he's already run into the coffee table a good 12 times. Bless his heart.

Remember how we got a fish tank 7 months ago? We kind of forgot about it and it's just been sitting there and we finally got some live coral in it.

We're going with a pirate theme. Whether Rick likes it or not. The purple Rock in the middle is the live coral. The other 2 should start to grow stuff in a few months. The 2 black things in it are snails that are supposed to keep the tank clean. They haven't moved since we put them in the tank. 10 hours ago.

Lastly, Rick applied for a job in Arizona.

We're keeping our fingers crossed.
