So turns out I'm kind of a liar. Remember how I said I'm quitting my job and that we're moving at the end of the summer? Turns out I lied about both of those things. And honestly, we couldn't be more relieved. Everything fell into place quickly and smoothly. We're very blessed.
I was going to quit my job because soon I will have to do an externship somewhere, and then I was going to hope and pray that someone would hire me, a brand new Medical Assistant, right after my externship. Turns out most Doctors want MAs with experience. Picky picky. The place that I work for now offered me the opportunity to do my externship there. They let me pick my schedule too, so I'm going to be doing my externship the exact same hours and days that Rick works. And I will still be able to keep my job. I already only work part time right now, and my hours would be cut even more, but a job is a job and I love where I work. I will go into work everyday for a few hours and do my regular job, and then go upstairs to the Nursing Department to give TB tests and have delinquent teenagers complain to me about their headaches. Really though, I'm very excited.
So now onto the housing situation. In September Rick's parents are going to Ecuador (I think?) where they will be temple missionaries (I think?) for a year. We're not sure yet if they are going to take the house off the market for that year or not, but we decided it would be best for everyone if we stayed here (you have no idea how much I hate moving) and pay a higher rent to them and then we would still keep the house and yard nice and they could just enjoy their mission together and not have to worry about it. We've started to do little things here and there to update the house and make it our own. Like installing a ceiling fan in our bedroom. Best idea ever. We love living in the house that Rick grew up in. The very same house where I dyed my hair pink in the bathroom and had a cake fight in the kitchen. Little did I know that 5 years later I would be mopping the kitchen floor of that house like it's going out of style.
And now onto the really important stuff. We need your help. We've reached a point in our marriage where we just don't know what to do. Blogging about our problem and asking others for their opinion sounds like the only logical thing to do at this point.
SHOULD RICK GROW OUT HIS HAIR AGAIN OR SHOULD HE KEEP IT SHORT?
I love how Rick's hair looks when it's short. I'm all about clean cut. Although I must admit that when his hair is long, it is very very pretty. Part of my issue is that I won't feel awesome about myself knowing that my husbands hair is prettier than mine. That's a hard pill to swallow. I feel like if he grows his hair out again he should agree to these 2 rules - 1. Shower in the guest bathroom. His hair isn't even long right now and I have to clean out the bathtub after every time he showers or else the water won't drain. Seriously. 2. Vacuum at least 2 times a week.
Here is the long haired Rick. The reason you're thinking "This looks super weird" is because of his glasses. Don't worry, they don't look like that anymore.

I think short. Mostly because with long hair, he kind of looks like my sister.
Tell Rick I said that, I'm sure he'll think it's funny.
short hair! I think it's fun that he had long hair once upon a time...but I think he is WAAAAY better looking with short hair.
glad you figurd out your moving/work situation. good luck with all of that.
Moving suck so way to not have to do it for a while longer now. I can only imagine how it is to live in the Brimhall house, that is just crazy!
As for Rick's hair... Long is my vote! He is a Native American it just fits and its bad ass! My hubby has very very pretty long hair that he gets to help clean up after ;)
Long long long!! Especially since he is in Spider Carcass aka Spinal Fluid band-o-rama!
MUCH better short! :)
Short. I beg of you. I don't care if he is Native American it looks hideous long. You asked.
On facebook and blogger its 10-9. Short hair wins. If my vote counts then its a tie.
short.
I am thinking short.
Long Hair. He is Native American and so it should be long. I am Native American so i will grow my hair long! Jodi your Brother-in-law and husband can both have long hair!!
Harsh. My vote counts twice because I am really enthusiastic. LONG!!
Trish, I love that you are so so stoked about this. Haha.
I agree with everyone who says he looks better with short hair. I think he looks super hot with short hair, but he doesn't want to grow it out because he thinks it will make him look better. He wants to grow it out because he's an Indian and he can. The hair itself looks beautiful. Just not the combination of the hair and his face (ha, sorry Rick). I also think he wants to grow it out because he's having a midlife crisis. I remind him almost everyday that he will be 30 in 2 years. THIRTY. Gross.
I'm dying to see the deleted comments. Identity crisis? Maybe if he just wore torquise...
Jodi...30. 30?! *GROSS????* You're kidding me, right?? ;)
Oh can I just add ... if he DOES grow it out long, part it in the middle. If it's all about being native american, my native american family (ok just friends, but when we had grace they announced they were grandparents, so there you go) the boys have long long long hair. but it doesn't look girly. I think it's because it's parted in the middle, and always in a low pony tail or braid. it's never down. and it's NEVER on the side. I think that's what I don't like about the long on Rick. it looks like he's trying to be a girl.
still vote short. he's really handsome with short.
Becca, I totally agree. In this picture he just got back from getting his haircut and the girl that did it straightened it and stuff. So it totally looks girly. Usually when it was long it would be parted in the middle, in a ponytail, or in braids.
His hair is in the shaggy phase right now and he said he doesn't think he will grow it out long long but maybe keep it how it is. We'll see. The guy can't make up his mind.
As gorgeous as it is long....I have to vote short.
Short looks handsome, dignified :)
